Edward Graham shares about the heart of Samaritan’s Purse leaders. Now more than ever, he is seeing among these staff members and volunteers a passion to serve in the Name of Jesus Christ. The most important aspect of what Samaritan’s Purse does is sharing how our debt was paid by the blood of Jesus Christ.

“I believe God has called us to do great works in His Name, but what good is it if we don't talk about the debt paid? And God gave his only Son, and He died on the cross. And that's why we do these good works, is to be able to share the truth and the hope.”—Edward Graham

Currently, North American Ministries is working in five locations across the United States, including Western North Carolina where our U.S. Disaster Relief teams are transitioning to the rebuild phase after Hurricane Helene. Teams are set to build hundreds of homes in the aftermath of the storm, providing families with a fresh start. Edward also shared what it was like to be on the ground in California amid the Palisades and Eaton fires in LA County. Volunteer teams are coming alongside homeowners to help with content recovery by searching through the ashes and looking for keepsakes and heirlooms that may have survived the flames. This helps bring a sense of closure.

On March 28, a 7.7-magnitude earthquake hit Myanmar and its powerful aftershocks were felt by surrounding countries. Samaritan’s Purse quickly sprang into action, deploying a Disaster Assistance Response Team, an Emergency Field Hospital, and life-saving supplies. Edward talked about the dire needs such as medical care and clean water.

“[Myanmar has] no real medical structure. They're overwhelmed. And so that's why we can take our largest hospital that we can deploy.”—Edward Graham

Edward also shares about God’s incredible favor and provision in Sudan. It is a miracle that in a place with conflict and complicated logistics, Samaritan’s Purse has been able to provide millions of displaced people with food and set up an Emergency Field Hospital, where we delivered hundreds of babies.

A verse that helps Edward keep the Gospel at the forefront as he serves is John 17:17 (ESV), which says, “Sanctify them in the truth; your word is truth.”

“What's the point if we don't share the Gospel? Why do we go in the first place? Good works are fleeting. They'll be hungry again. They'll be hurting again. They'll need medicine again. That we know, that's true. But if I truly love my neighbor, if I truly love them, sanctify them with the truth.”—Edward Graham
