Samaritan’s Purse currently has disaster response specialists on the ground in Armenia, Morocco, Libya, and Israel. In this episode, we’ll take you behind the scenes to hear more about how Samaritan’s Purse is giving physical aid and showing God’s love. Earlier this week, Kristy Graham joined Aaron Ashoff, the deputy director of international projects, in the command center to hear more about the work happening on the ground through church partners and our Disaster Assistance Response Teams.

After an earthquake hit Morocco, Samaritan’s Purse sent teams to build more than 1,000 semi-permanent shelters for those who lost their homes. When Libya experienced devastating floods after Storm Daniel, Samaritan’s Purse connected with local partners to provide blankets, food, and hygiene kits to those suffering.

Samaritan’s Purse also sent burn care teams to Armenia to treat those harmed by an explosion in Nagorno-Karabakh. The explosion left over 200 people fleeing with severe burn injuries. Our medical teams are treating patients through surgeries and physical therapy. The team there is also working with churches to distribute desperately needed supplies to the displaced people.

Hear directly from our team lead in Israel, John Silkman, about what it’s like witnessing the suffering firsthand. Samaritan’s Purse is supporting churches in Israel to help provide food, clothing, and more to those affected by the ongoing conflict. When he spoke with Kristy, John reported that the people in Israel are in shock. Through it all, he is holding onto Scripture.

“I have said these things to you, that in me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation. But take heart; I have overcome the world.” —John 16:33 (ESV)

Please pray for the people whose lives have completely changed due to conflict and natural disasters. Pray for protection as conflict is ongoing in Israel. If you’d like to keep up to date with more stories on the ground, please visit SamaritansPurse.org.
