“What I’ve learned over 50 years of ministry is that it’s God. We do it in the name of Jesus, that’s the key,” Franklin Graham, president and CEO of Samaritan’s Purse, shares with Kristy.
Kristy and her father-in-law Franklin Graham sit down for a conversation catching up on the past year of Samaritan’s Purse—celebrating 50 years of ministry, then turning its attention to assist overwhelmed medical systems with treating COVID-19 patients.
Franklin shared how Samaritan’s Purse used the same principles treating Ebola to care for coronavirus patients in the Bahamas, Italy, LA County, New York, and North Carolina. Although the ministry has treated sickness across the globe, Franklin said the principle was the same: people on U.S. soil and abroad both were in need of help and healing.
Throughout the discussion, Franklin talks about what he’s learned over the past year of leadership. He and Kristy cover how he was challenged to embrace change while allowing God to teach him patience.
He shares Proverbs 3:5-6, which says, “Trust in the LORD with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make straight your paths.”
To wrap the interview, Kristy asks him questions submitted from listeners. He dives deeper into meaningful projects from the past year, how he was raised in the faith, and ways he continually prays for the staff and family of the ministry.
In closing, Samaritan’s Purse staff working in the Democratic Republic of Congo and Colombia share specific ways to pray for their office, family, and country. Please join us in prayer for the staff and family members that are serving around the world in Jesus’ Name.
